Call for Educational Program Proposals

AHEPPP: Family Engagement in Higher Education invites professional staff, faculty, community partners, and graduate students from all academic disciplines and departments to consider presenting a program at the 2024 Family Engagement in Higher Education National Conference November 18-20 in Reno, NV.

As family engagement professionals, we know it is important to capture and share the experiences we facilitate that bring value to our institutional communities. Now is your opportunity to share this knowledge with your colleagues across the country!

Important Dates:

March 12 | Educational programs proposal submission process begins 



March 26 | Virtual information session to learn more about the program proposal process and connect with potential co-presenters. Held over Zoom at 12:00 p.m. EST.

April 29 | Deadline for educational program proposals at 11:59 p.m. ET (8:59 p.m. PT)

| Deadline extended to May 5 at 11:59 p.m. (ET)

Mid-June | Notification of selected educational programs

 

   

What to include in your program proposal:
Educational program proposals include a brief description that provides an accurate picture of what your presentation will cover, the purpose, and participant learning outcomes. Additionally, proposals must address how the information presented can be adapted to different types and sizes of institutions.

Review the Conference Proposal Guide for more details and examples prior to creating and submitting your proposal.

  • Presenter(s) Information
  • Proposed Program Title
  • Intended Audience (i.e. parent and family, development, orientation, etc.)
  • Educational Program Extract
    • A maximum 75-word description that will be used in the program schedule
  • Educational Program Description
    • A maximum 400-word description of what your presentation will cover. This description will provide reviewers a clear understanding of your educational program.
  • Outline
    • A maximum 400-word summary that includes timeline, structure, and an overall game plan for your educational program. This provides the reviewer an overview of how the session will be conducted, including sequence of events, the arrangement of topics, and overarching strategy for an effective presentation.
  • AHEPPP Values that your Program Represents
    • Topics should reflect the mission of AHEPPP, which works to support professionals in higher education who promote student success through informed parent and family engagement.
  • You may view past programs on the AHEPPP website (member log in required) - 2022, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, and 2015.

Special consideration will be given to proposals that:
Feature collaborations with other university departments outside of parent and family programs (i.e. Dean of Students, fundraising, counseling services, admissions, orientation, Residential Life, etc).
