We’re seeking committed leaders for three important roles within AHEPPP’s membership and research-focused initiatives. These positions are ideal for professionals who want to deepen their involvement in the association while making a meaningful impact on our members’ experience and the broader field of family engagement.

Council for the Advancement of Standards (CAS) Representative
Reports to: AHEPPP Board of Directors Term: Three Years; January 2027 – December 2029 Time Commitment: 2–4 hours per week, including regular CAS meetings and an annual in-person meeting in Alexandria, VA Applications Open: Monday, August 3, 2026 Applications Due: Friday, September 4, 2026
Role Summary
The CAS Representative serves as AHEPPP’s voice on the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS). Working alongside a fellow representative, this leader helps shape and promote standards that affect parent and family engagement nationwide.
Role Responsibilities
- Serve as an official AHEPPP Representative on the CAS Council
- Attend and participate in regular CAS meetings and standards review calls
- Attend the annual in-person meeting in Alexandria, VA (travel expenses provided by AHEPPP)
- Collaborate with fellow CAS representative on AHEPPP voting decisions
- Serve on standards review or other CAS committees
- Provide regular CAS updates to the AHEPPP Board of Directors
- Present CAS-related content at AHEPPP's Annual Conference and webinars
- Consult with AHEPPP members on CAS products and review processes
- Submit reports documenting activities and recommendations to the Board of Directors
Qualifications
- Understanding of higher education standards and assessment
- Experience with program evaluation or accreditation
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to advancing professional standards
- Prior AHEPPP experience preferred
- Ability to attend the annual CAS Conference in Alexandria, VA

2027 Research Committee Chair
Reports to: AHEPPP Board of Directors and designated AHEPPP Staff Term: One Year; September 2026 - August 2027 Time Commitment: 2–4 hours per week, varies Applications Open: Monday, August 3, 2026 Applications Due: Friday, September 4, 2026
Lead the vision for AHEPPP's inaugural Research Committee! The Research Chair will guide the committee's priorities, facilitate meetings, and foster collaboration among members to advance research that strengthens family engagement. The Research Chair will help establish the committee's structure, shape its strategic direction, and build a lasting culture of research, scholarship, and knowledge-sharing. If you're passionate about family engagement research and excited to help launch and lead this new initiative, we encourage you to apply.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the Research Committee with the goal of developing program goals, topics of interest, and programs
- In collaboration with the Research Committee and the designated AHEPPP staff,
- Develop and refine the committee’s goals and objectives
- Design and implement programs aligned with these goals to promote research utilization and support members conducting research in this field
- Curate, expand, and maintain AHEPPP’s research library
- Compile and publish an annual list of relevant dissertations and theses
- Support researchers and writers through roundtables, writing groups, and mentorship opportunities
- Review and vet external research requests involving AHEPPP members
- Promote research literacy through accessible summaries, webinars, and conference programming
- Recommend annual research priorities for the association
Qualifications
- Current member of the association with at least 3 years of experience in Parent/Family Engagement
- Strong organizational skills
- Relational, collaborative, and responsive
- Ability to meet regularly with Research Committee

Research Committee

Join the AHEPPP Research Committee
The AHEPPP Research Committee is dedicated to curating, advancing, and promoting research that helps members better understand and engage with families. We are seeking individuals to serve as founding members of this inaugural committee and to help build a strong culture of research, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing within AHEPPP.

Responsibilities
In collaboration with the Research Committee Chair and designated AHEPPP staff, committee members will:

- Availability to meet regularly with the Research Chair and fellow committee members
- Experience with research, assessment, or program evaluation preferred

Mentorship Program Chair
Reports to: AHEPPP Board of Directors and designated AHEPPP staff Term: 1 year Time Commitment: 2–4 hours per week Applications Open: Monday, August 3, 2026 Applications Due: Friday, September 4, 2026
Role Summary
The Mentorship Program Chair leads one of AHEPPP’s most impactful member support initiatives. In this role, you’ll guide a cohort of mentors and mentees through a year-long program focused on growth, connection, and professional development.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead all components of the the AHEPPP Mentorship Program
- Recruit, select, and pair mentors and mentees from the AHEPPP membership
- Host Mentor Cohort meetings for mentors to equip them in their roles
- Send monthly emails to mentors providing them with discussion topics for their mentees
- Connect with mentees to ensure they receive the needed AHEPPP support
- Prepare and submit a final report (executive summary) documenting decisions, activities, results of new programs, and future recommendations.
Qualifications
- Current AHEPPP member with at least 3 years of experience in parent/family engagement
- Experience as a mentor or mentee
- Strong meeting facilitation and communication skills (especially on Zoom)
- Organized, responsive, and relationship-oriented
- Ability to collaborate regularly with Membership Liaisons and the committee
